There is truly not enough out there in the world to educate us in the "hearing" world to help us in our own language, English, to where we feel comfortable to ask questions before we actually engage with a deaf person. Think of this as your "before you learn the SIGNS" kind of guide to start with a strong foundation for building a true and authentic connection when having that first conversation with the deaf community.
